Our bright and highly aromatic North Coast Sauvignon Blanc begins with intense aromas of fresh-cut green apples, orange blossom and a touch of lemongrass. On the bright, inviting palate, the wine’s cool fermentation resulted in zesty notes of Meyer lemon, grapefruit and lime, blending seamlessly with richer notes of honey dew melon, white peach, pear and a touch of guava on the medium-bodied palate before a refreshingly crisp finish. Ideal conditions prevailed for the 2018 harvest. Winter rains nourished soils before cool, moderate conditions throughout the growing season. Fruit thrived on the vine and ripened at a slow and steady pace, with harvest beginning in late August for the warmer climate blocks in Lake County and finishing in mid-October with cool climate Russian River grapes. Sauvignon Blanc from the 2018 harvest is of great quality and flavor intensity. Our North Coast Sauvignon Blanc was selected from a variety of vineyards, primarily two vineyards in Sonoma County: Laguna Vineyard (54%) in the Russian River Valley and Asti Vineyard (20%) in Northern Sonoma. The cooler Laguna Vineyard provided ripe grapefruit, lemon and wet stone mineral notes, while Asti Vineyard provided vibrant passion fruit and guava characteristics. The balance was from estate vineyards and grower partners in Lake and Solano Counties.
